While my journey continues, I have been struggling to re-brand my business to reflect the new direction I’m taking as a Profit First Professional.
I have been pulling my hair out for weeks, trying to come up with a name for the business, trying to get away from “The Bookkeeper”. I am so much more than just a bookkeeper now!
Earlier this week I listened to a Successful Bookkeeper Podcast on which a colleague, Jim Flauaus, was telling his story. Though I found the whole episode inspirational, with lots of great nuggets, I picked up a golden nugget in the conversation…Jim and Michael were talking about how bookkeepers and accountants are “shepherds of people’s
money, financial shepherds, giving peace of mind and guidance”.
I loved that analogy, it struck me and I couldn’t get it out of my head.
Cue thunder please…
For almost 30 years, my husband and I have had Great Pyrenees dogs. We began our Pyr life with a puppy, Tasha. When she was about 2 years old we adopted a Pyr from the
GPCSO rescue, Shadow.
Since then we have rescued Max, Rex, Tundra and Wally. Wally, or “Walter” when he’s being otherwise, is still with us today.
Sadly the others have all crossed the rainbow bridge.
Because we love Pyrs so much and have adopted so many over the years, we began calling our place “Pyradise”. We now have Pyradise Apiary for our honey sales and Pyradise Enterprises for my husband’s handyman business.
Great Pyrenees are known as “Gently Giants”, “Guardians of the flock”, the dog equivalent of a shepherd!!
And now the lightning strikes!!
Why don’t I just call my business Pyradise!! With some discussion with Jim, the name Pyradise Profit Advisers was born.
Now to get my incredible website developer, Ian Scott busy. I’m sure he’ll be shaking his head in disbelief as I ask him to, once again, make big changes to my website!! (Thank you Ian…I know it will take some time for you to work your magic, I thank you for being so patient with me!!)
Once we have everything sorted out with the website and my email etc, my business will officially be known as:
Pyradise Profit Advisers.
